Soil Erosion and Sedimentation Control

Gladwin County Soil Erosion operates under an ordinance, therefore, failure to apply for and receive a Soil Erosion and Sedimentation Control permit may result in a citation.  

IF ANY OF THE FOLLOWING APPLIES TO YOUR PROJECT, YOU WILL NEED A PERMIT:
​
  • Any earth change activity over 225 square feet ​within 500 feet of a lake or stream, county drain, or storm drain.
 
  • Any soil disturbance over 1 acre, regardless of proximity to water.​
 
  • New or existing gravel pit.
