Description

A native deciduous shrub, Spicebush delights with aromatic leaves and bright yellow flowers in early spring, long before many other plants bloom. In summer, it produces red berries that attract birds and provide food for the spicebush swallowtail butterfly. Thriving in moist, well-drained soils and partial shade, the 12–18" size establishes easily and is ideal for woodland gardens, naturalized areas, and pollinator-friendly landscapes in Michigan.
